Beneath the Buck Moon: Honour What Has Grown

Full Moon Reflections — A time to pause, reflect and realign

Beneath the Buck Moon: What I'm Noticing About My Growth

There are seasons when I can clearly see my growth.

The garden blooms, the path feels clearer, and something I've been waiting for finally shows up. I can point to it and think, there it is—I did that.

And then there are the quieter seasons.

The ones where growth looks like holding a boundary I used to avoid, having a hard conversation and surviving it, or slowly making my life feel a little more like my own. Nothing dramatic—just steady, invisible shifts.

The Buck Moon rises in midsummer, named for the time when young deer start growing new antlers. What begins as something soft and vulnerable slowly becomes strength you can actually see.

That's what this moon feels like to me: a reminder to notice what's already growing, even if I can't fully measure it yet.

What's Actually Changed?

Since the last new moon, I haven't figured everything out. I'm still waiting on things, still doing the math, still wondering if I'm moving fast enough.

But I'm learning that fullness isn't the same as completion.

The moon doesn't wait until it's "done" to shine.

Neither do I.

So I'm trying to pause and notice what's already here: the courage it took to get through the last month, the work no one saw, the moments I chose rest instead of pushing, and the small sparks of hope that kept showing up anyway.

If I ask myself, what's stronger in me now than a month ago? the answer is softer than I expect.

Maybe I trust my own pace a little more.

Maybe I'm building a life that actually feels like mine.

Maybe I'm realizing stability isn't about standing still—it's about having an inner place I can return to, even as I move and change.

Letting Go Without Letting Go of the Dream

Full moons are often about release, and I'm learning that release doesn't mean giving up what matters.

It can mean letting go of the pressure for everything to happen immediately, without letting go of the dream itself.

It can mean loosening shame around money while still staying responsible.

It can mean not needing to know the whole path while still taking the next step.

Choosing What Gets My Energy

Even good things can become too much when everything feels urgent.

There are always projects, responsibilities, invitations, possibilities. But I can't give everything the same level of care.

So I'm asking myself more honestly:

What actually needs me right now?

What can wait?

What am I holding onto out of guilt, fear, or habit?

My energy matters. Where I place it shapes my life.

So under this full moon, I'm choosing one promise to myself—not to do everything, but to do what matters with more intention.

Maybe that means moving more gently.

Taking better care of my body.

Making my space feel calmer.

Letting my dream take the time it needs instead of rushing it to prove itself.

A Quiet Closing

And maybe that's enough for now.

Not a finish line, not a final answer—just a moment of noticing. A soft acknowledgment that something in me is still becoming, even when I can't quite name its shape yet.

I can rest here for a while, under this light, and trust that growth is still happening in all the ways I can't yet see.
